There weren't many hits on the day, but the John Bapst Crusaders rode the backs of their pitchers and took advantage of some walks and errors to sweep Presque Isle, 6-4 and 6-2.
Matt Storgaard started game one and Jason McBurnie came on in the 3rd inning to pitch 5 innings of 2 hit, shutout baseball to preserve the Bapst win. Jason had 6 strikeouts for his 2nd win of the season.
Offensively, JB only mustered 4 hits. Casey Hull was 1 for 3 with 2 walks, 3 stolen bases, and 3 runs scored. Chase Huckstein was 1 for 3 with a stolen base. Nick Pooler was 1 for 2 with 2 walks and an rbi. Shane Hass was 1 for 3 with a stolen base and rbi. Ryan Carr and Bill Wetherbee also scored for JB.
In game 2, Chris Hammond pitched a complete game with 7 strikeouts to pick up his first win of the season. Both runs scored by PI were unearned.
Offensively for JB- Casey Hull 1 for 2, 2 runs, 1 rbi and 2 SB. Chase Huckstein tripled and had 3 rbi's and a run scored. Nick Pooler was on base all day long; he singled, was hit by a pitch, walked, and had an rbi. Matt Duplisea had a nice double, was hit by a pitch, and scored. Shane Hass and Adam Leadbetter also scored for JB.
The Crusaders are now 3-0.
